Medicinal Mushrooms. Research has shown that a blend of medicinal mushrooms
will stimulate the immune system system more than any one mushroom alone.
Our combination of medicinal mushrooms is rich in 1,3 and 1,6 b-glucans,
arabinoxylans, glycoproteins, triterpenes, ergosterol and antioxidants. |

Over 2,000 years ago a Greek physician,
Dioscorides, used this polypore as a curative. Containing Agaric Acid, it
has been used over the centuries for asthma, chronic cough, tuberculosis,
the sweats, as a purgative, antitumor, laxative, to fortify the lungs, and
to inhibit certain cancers.* |

Birch Polypore
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
The birch polypore is most commonly found
growing on birch trees in northern areas throughout the world. It has most
recently come to fame when found in the possession of the Ice Man, a
neolithic man discovered partially exposed in a receding glacier in the
Italian Alps in 1991. The birch polypore contains numerous triterpenes,
betulin, betulinic acid, agaric acid and beta glucans, which give this
mushroom anti-tumor and immune stimulating properties.* |

Blazei
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Blazei, Agaricus blazei, is another choice edible with
significant medicinal properties and a high beta-glucan content. Blazei has
been found to stimulate the immune system causing activation of the
complement system, macrophages and an increase in cytokine levels, notably
tumor necrosis factors and interleukins. In addition to the beta-glucans,
researchers have also found an alpha-glucan that was shown to have strong
antitumor properties. Blazei has been shown to be active against breast,
cervical and colorectal cancers.* |

Cordyceps sinensis
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Cordyceps sinensis is an unusual mushroom that parasitizes
caterpillar larvae of moths, found in the mountains of Tibet and China, and
then sends a long, club-like mushroom up above ground level. The mycelium is
more commonly used than the mushroom due to the growing scarcity of the
mushroom in the wild and the higher purity of organically grown mycelium. In
addition to polysaccharides, cordyceps also contains high levels of
cordycepic acid and nucleosides, such as cordycepin and adenosine. The
mycelium of cordyceps is particularly good at producing arabinoxylanes when
grown on brown rice, so our cordyceps powder is also very rich in
arabinoxylanes. Researchers have found cordyceps to have a wide-range of
uses including immune system stimulation, reducing cholesterol levels and
the treatment of asthma, arrhythmia and cancer*. Cordyceps has become very
popular in sports nutrition due to claims by Olympic athletes that it
increases their physical endurance. |

One 1/2 tsp of powder provides 1 g of cordyceps
mycelium and is equivalent to two 500 mg capsules. A 4 oz bag with a serving
size of 1 g contains 112 servings (roughly equivalent to four bottles of 60
capsules each). Suggested use: As a dietary supplement, take 1/2 tsp daily

Maitake
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Maitake, Grifola frondosa, is a medicinal polypore that is
also a choice edible being composed of a bracket of soft, over-lapping,
fan-shaped fronds. It is best known for its anti-tumor and
immune-stimulating properties due to the high levels of beta-glucans found
in this mushroom. Researchers have found maitake to help regulate blood
glucose levels, reduce cholesterol levels and serve as an adapogen helping
the body deal with stress.* In addition to beta-glucans, maitake also
contains other polysaccharides, arabinoxylanes on rice-grown mycelium and
ergothioneine, a strong antioxidant. |
 |
|
One 1/2 tsp of powder provides 1 g of maitake
mycelium and is equivalent to two 500 mg capsules. Therefore, a 4 oz bag
with a serving size of 1 g contains 112 servings (roughly equivalent to four
bottles of 60 capsules each). Suggested use: As a dietary supplement, take

|
Oyster Mushroom
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Oyster Mushrooms have properties that increase HDL
cholesterol, reduce LDL cholesterol, and help improve heart health. Several
studies have also shown tumor-inhibition rates of 79% - 95% in mice. Oyster
mushrooms have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for joint and
muscle relaxation. Recent research has also shown it to have activity
against HIV.*

Reishi
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Reishi, Ganoderma lucidum, is a hard woody conk with a shiny
reddish upper surface belonging to the polypore family. The mycelium or
mushroom is most commonly used as a tea or as a powder sprinkled on food or
encapsulated. Reishi has been traditionally used to help the body fight
cancer, stimulate the immune system and increase vitality. The constituents
of reishi that have received the most attention are 1,3 beta-D-glucans and
triterpenes; however, it also contains other polysaccharides, ergosterol,
polyphenols and adenosine . When reishi mycelium is grown on brown rice, the
powdered mycelium also contains arabinoxylanes. Reishi has also been
reported to inhibit cholesterol synthesis and histamine release, reduce
hypertension, protect the liver, give relief from asthma and allergies and
have antioxidant properties.*
|
 |
|
One 1/2 tsp of powder provides 1 g of reishi
mycelium and mushroom and is equivalent to two 500 mg capsules. Therefore, a

Shiitake Mushroom
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Shiitake, Lentinula edodes, is not only a medicinal mushroom
but is also an excellent gourmet edible. Both the mycelium and the mushroom
are commonly used medicinally. The main constituents of shiitake are
polysaccharides, but it also contains ergosterol and ergothioneine, a potent
antioxidant. Research indicates shiitake is useful for fighting cancer,
immune stimulation, cholesterol reduction and the treatment of HIV.*

Suehirotake
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
Schizophyllum commune - Suehirotake is best known for the
polysaccharide, schizophyllan (SPG), which is one of the most researched
medicinal polysaccharides. SPG has been found to activate macrophages and
stimulate T cells and natural killer cells. SPG has also been found to
lessen the side effects of chemotherapy and more rapidly restore T cell
counts to normal levels following radiation. In one study, 90% of patients
with chronic fatigue syndrome showed significant improvement accompanied by
increased NK cell counts. This corresponds with its use in traditional
Chinese medicine to increase vitality. In several cancer studies, split-gill
has been effective in combating uterine cancer, cervical cancer, lung
cancer, gastric cancer, and to be active against several strains of
sarcoma.*
|
 |
|
One 1/2 tsp of powder provides 1 g of
suehirotake mycelium and is equivalent to two 500 mg capsules. A 4 oz bag

True Tinder Polypore
Medicinal Mushroom Powder
We know that this fungus, a natural antibiotic, was used as
far back as the fifth century BC by Hippocrates to cauterize wounds. Since
then, it has been used to stop bleeding, for hemorrhoids, bladder disorders,
consumption (tuberculosis), as a diuretic and laxative, as a nerve tonic,
for those with HIV, and for cancer of various systems including esophagus,
uterus and stomach. This polypore contains iodine, fomentariol, and other
ingredients that are active against tumors and bacteria. The immune
modulating properties of the tinder polypore are mainly due to β-glucans in
the cell walls. In addition to fighting bacteria and viruses, this active
fungus fights parasites that may cause malaria and helps the immune system
fight a wide range of infectious disorders.*

 |
|
One 1/2 tsp of powder provides 1 g of true
tinder polypore mycelium and is equivalent to two 500 mg capsules.
Therefore, a 4 oz bag with a serving size of 1 g contains 112 servings
